Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; Mr F Bolton
Brief Description This black and white carte de visite photograph of Mr F Bolton of Whanganui was taken in the studio of well-known photographer W J Harding. This is a reprint of the original, taken directly from the glass plate negative in the 1950s.

Bolton is standing casually with his hands on his hips and one leg crossed over the other, leaning against a chaise lounge. He wears a light-coloured three-piece suit with a pocket watch visible beneath the partially open jacket. He has a full moustache and beard, and short cropped hair, very much in keeping with men's styling in the 1870s.

Bolton was an early resident of the Whanganui district. His first name is probably Frederick, or Fred, but little is known of him to date.
