Brief Description This back and white photograph is of the original Belmont Viaduct on the grade from Johnsonville down to Tawa Flat, on the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company's Thorndon-Longburn line, built in about 1886-88. The photograph shows the viaduct stretching across two barren hills. A man can be seen in the foreground.
