Name/Title BELT WITH MEDALS
Brief Description This heavy belt, made of linked leather sections with a steel buckle, a belt link and rivets, dates to World War I. It has a collection of 23 buttons, three badges, an ID tag for E H Annabell and a German Infantry belt buckle attached with a leather lace holding them on. It was compiled by Ernest Henry Annabell of Ngamatapouri, near Patea. Ernest was a farmhand who was a Private in the 36th reinforcements A Company of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force which sailed in the Willochra to Britain in early 1918.
