Brief Description |
This small gold-coloured jewellery box is in the shape of a crown, hinged along the lid which opens to a red velvet-lined box. It was produced to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
The crown is cast from a mould in tin and painted and has red enamel inlays. The inside of the lid has flower and leaf forms cast into the surface while the body has decorative scroll work to sides and underneath and four small feet.
