Brief Description |
This circular powder bowl (a) with lid (b) is made of laminated native New Zealand timbers. The lid is lipped and decorated with parallel lines of the different timbers in a geometric pattern with lines running horizontally and vertically. The bowl is made of seven different timbers running in parallel lines and there are three rounded parallel ridges around the outer edge.
The woods used in the bowl are listed on a green sticker on the inside of the lid: ''SOVEREIGN / NEW ZEALAND TIMBERS / Named from Centre / REWAREWA / KAHIKATEA / RATA / TAWA / RATA / KAHIKATEA / RIMU".
