Brief Description |
A six inch wooden ruler with a metric scale on one side and an imperial scale on the other. Through the center are eight square samples of native New Zealand timbers. From left to right the timbers are rimu, totara, tawa, matai, rata, tawhai, pukatea and rewarewa. The inch side of the ruler is made from kauri and the centimetre side is made from kahikatea. 'NEW ZEALAND TIMBERS" is stamped on the inch side of the rule, between the two and four inch marks. "SOVEREIGN" is marked on the centimetre side under the seven and eight centimetre marks.
