Brief Description This coupon is a meat ration card, in the name of Annie Montgomerie, 1914-1918.

Annie Mason was born in 1876 and married Roger Arnolph Montgomerie in 1893; the couple settled in Whanganui to raise their family. During World War I two of their sons, Oswald and Hugh Seton, elisted to train as pilots in Britain. Annie wished to be closer to the boys during this time so moved the whole Montgomerie Family to London where they lived from 1916 to 1919.

This ration card was issued during the family's time in London. A book comprising of transcriptions of Annie's diaries during this period has been published and is available through Otago University Press.
