Brief Description This birth certificate for Amy Frances Brewster Jordan, later Tyerman, is a landscape format green paper with black pre-printed instructions and details handwritten in black ink. This certificate was issued on 5 December 1925 from the original records of the Registrar General. The birth was registered on 16 June that year and signed by Registrar DS Durie.

Amy Frances Brewster Jordan was born on 12 June 1862 at Rangitikei, a daughter to Captain John Jordan (a sheep farmer, who arrived in Auckland aboard the "Thames City" in 1860) and Frances Maria Jordan nee Syer. Maria's father was Thomas Syer, imported the first Jersey cattle to New Zealand as a wedding gift for his daughters - a bull and two heifers which arrived the year Amy was born.

Amy married William John Tyerman in 1886 and they had three recorded children: Gertrude born 1887, Lionel Percival born 1889 (died aged 10 months) and Frank Vernon born 1891.
