This black and white photograph of Amy Tyerman nee Jordan is a studio portrait of a young woman wearing a long white gown, standing in three-quarter reverse profile with her very long hair reaching down her back to her knees. A wicker chair and table with a small plant pot on top are in the background.
Amy Frances Brewster Jordan was born on 12 June 1862 at Rangitikei, a daughter to John Jordan (a sheep farmer) and Frances Maria Jordan nee Syer. Amy married William John Tyerman in 1886 and they had three recorded children: Gertrude born 1887, Lionel Percival born 1890 (died young) and Frank Vernon born 1891.
