This reproduction of a sepia toned studio portrait photograph is of John Herbert Scott, his wife Ann (nee Kirkland) and their two children. John is seated on the left with their young son standing next to him, and Ann is seated on the right holding their baby in her lap. The original photograph would have been taken in the late 1910s.
John and Ann were married on 25 October 1913 in Whanganui. Their son Neil Kirkland Scott was born in 1914, and another child was born a few years later (unable to confirm date). John died in 1958 aged 71, and Ann died in 1960 aged 76 years. John was a bootmaker and owned Scott's Shoe Store in Aramoho, Whanganui.
