Sepia photograph on a card mount of the Whanganui River in Flood from Paul's Corner, later Fosters Hotel. The view from Paul's Corner south on Taupo Quay includes Joseph Paul Tailoring and Clothier on the southeast corner, Yarrows Fish Shop and Restaurant, Steam Packet Hotel, Prince of Wales Hotel and Mason's Store. The intersection with Taupo Quay and Victoria Avenue is filled with horses and carts and pedestrians viewing the water damage.
The photograph has been mounted on cream card.
