Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; Collapse of the East Bank of the Whanganui River during the 1904 flood
Brief Description A black and white photograph mounted on green card showing the collapse of part of the east bank of the Whanganui River beneath Durie Hill during the 1904 flood. A house can be seen falling into the river along with the bank. On the left side of the house is the H Coupe coach builder workshop and on the right is the Saddler & Harness Maker and an advertisement board. These underminded buildings were never re-built. The Red Lion Hotel is on the far left.
