A black and white photograph showing the flooding at the entrance to Kowhai Park, Whanganui, in 1957. Photograph is taken from the road opposite the entrance and shows the road and walkway completely under water. The sign to the left of the entrance states: "James McGregor Memorial, Kowhai Park. Drive in Slowly. Passenger Vehicles only permitted. No vehicles in park allowed after dark. Lighting of fires prohibited. Speed Limit 10mls per hr."
