Brief Description A black and white photograph taken near Queen's Park looking out over Somme Parade towards Whanganui East. The photograph shows a number of houses near the riverbank with only a few on the opposite side of the river. The numbers on the front correspond to a provided list on the reverse of the photograph, identifying the houses:
1 = Nixon's (Major).
2 = Major Rooke's.
3= Major Hazzard (?).
4= Sir Robert Douglas (?).
5 = Mrs Morrisons School (?).
6 = Russell (The Painter).
7 = Geo Beavens Res.
8 = Soulby's Mill.
