A black and white panoramic photograph taken from Durie Hill in Whanganui, looking out over Taupo Quay with Victoria Avenue to the right. The numbers in pencil on the front correspond with information provided on the reverse:

3 = W J Owens Chemist (who sold business to his two assistants J Wakefield and A B Hogg, their assistant A E Kitchen was next owner).
4 = Revell's shop.

8 = The Waters store (then John Duthie then Jas Thain then Mason Struthers).
