Brief Description |
A black and white photograph and three sketches mounted on an album leaf page.
The photograph on side A shows the Watt Memorial Fountain on Victoria Avenue, Whanganui. The photograph is taken looking down the Avenue towards the River. On the right hand side there are several horse drawn carts outside H N Tobacconist. On the corner of Victoria Avenue and Ridgway Street is the Mitchell & Richards Family Butchers. The Post Office Tower can also be seen on the right. There are people walking up and down the Ave.
On side B are three remaining sketches. Two have been removed at some stage. The top Sketch shows a man climbing a ladder with two women up the top. One, an older woman, is about to beat the man with a stick. On the bottom left side is a sketch of the view across the expanse of Lake Taupo, Province of Auckland NZ. It was taken from the Eastern shore above Tauranag Taupo. The Bottom right sketch is of the view of the north arm of Lake Waikaremoana in the Province of Auckland N.Z. The sketch was done from the eastern shore looking south.
The two missing photographs or sketches were most likely of Ted Crawford in 1884 and 1885.
All images are mounted on green album leaf paper.
