A black and white photograph of the arrival of the vessel "Luna," a two funnel vessel, carrying the Governor G F Bowen, to open the Whanganui Town Bridge. At the time of the photo, the wharf was at the end of Wilson Street. A large crowd of onlookers are gathered near the wharf, with many on horseback.
