Brief Description A black and white photograph taken from Victoria Avenue looking down towards the Whanganui River as the Governor Sir G F Bowen officially opened the Whagnanui Town Bridge. A large crowd is gathered at the end of the bridge, some on horses. Flags decorate the buildings and end of the bridge. On the left hand side, a man stands on the verandah of the Flyger Bros building. The Bank of New Zealand stands on the left.
