Name/Title PHOTOGRAPH; Military Officers in front ot the Whanganui Town Bridge
Brief Description A sepia toned photo of a group of Military Officers standing on the river bank with the Whanganui Town Bridge in the background. Two 6 pound Armstrong guns stand between the men. Construction material is stacked on either side of the group. The view was taken the day after the official opening of the bridge by his excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen G.C.M.G Governor of New Zealand.
These officers were under the command of Lieutenant T.W. Pitcher and formed part of the Honour Guard for Governor Sir G F Bowwn at the opening ceremony for the Whanganui Town Bride.
