A black and white photograph showing the H.M.S "Hinau" and the another unnamed ship being worked on in a drydock in Auckland. The ships are out of the water and surrounded by scaffolding. The H.M.S "Hinau" was a castle class minesweeper, constructed with wood on iron frames and built 1941-1942. It weighed 447 tons and was 135' x 23'6" x 13'6". It has 1 12 pounder cannon and 2 machine gune. It had a speed of 10 knots and was manned by a crew of 26-28 members. It was sold for scrap in 1955 and the "Hinau's" hull was beached at Kaiau, in the Firth of Thames.
