Brief Description |
A colour photographic postcard of the closing down of the last tram route in New Zealand. The tram, number 257, was en route from Newtown to Thorndon and is photgraphed outside Parliament Building in Wellington, with the Cenotaph seen on the left of the image. The conductor and driver of the tram stand at the open tram doors at each end of the carriage, which is painted red and cream with a banner advertising Methyl Benzine Shell. Information on the front of the post card states that this tram was to be preserved in the Museum of Transport and Technology, Auckland
