A black and white photograph of the "Middleham Castle" leaving Castlecliff Wharf in Whanganui. The view was taken from the shore and looks towards the large ship heading towards the ocean. The mole stretches out from the right with the two halves of the wrecked vessel "Cyrena" are seen on the right and a train loaded with large rocks in the foreground.
The "Middleham Castle" weighed 4534 tons.
