A black and white photograph of the M.V. "Rataul" at Castlecliff Wharf. The view looks across the water towards the high-sided vessel with three masts, and ropes tethering it to the wharf. The freezing works and other buildings line the wharf beyond, and the buildings of the city can be seen in the distance.
Information on the vessel is written on the reverse: "M.V Rataul" 5618 tons, 425 feet long, aft shows Harbour Board Cool Store at the end of Meuli wharf. Tug - Kahanui, Dredge - Kaione."
