Brief Description A black and white photograph of the German Fleet in Scapa Flow, a body of water in the Orkney Islands in Scotland. The view looks across a large expanse of water with small islands, and a number of German vessels saililng on the water.
Scapa Flow is the site where the German fleet was scuttled on 21 June 1919. The fleet was moved to this location and interned pending the outcome of peace negotiations in the First World War. A total of 74 warships were interned here and 52 of the ships were scuttled.
