A scenic sepia toned photograph of the Whanganui River, taken looking upriver towards Pipiriki. The water is calm and the cliffs on either side are covered in dense bush.
A note on teh reverse identifies the image as a Ladder Scene by A Martin, taken below Tieke July 1886. However identified on acquisition record as a Partington photograph.
